Moringa is so healthy: 3 positive effects on your body

1. It can lower cholesterol levels

With the right diet, you can actively influence blood lipid levels. In the case of blood fat, a distinction is made between LDL cholesterol and HDL cholesterol. LDL blood fat is low in density and accumulates excessively in blood vessels and arteries, where it can lead to atherosclerosis and other circulatory disorders. HDL cholesterol, on the other hand, is now described by science as a good blood fat. Studies have shown that Moringa can have a reducing effect on harmful LDL cholesterol. The researchers even concluded that Moringa could be used as a therapeutic measure to prevent cardiovascular disease.

2. It can have anti-inflammatory effects

The components of the leaves, seeds and fruits of Moringa appear to have anti-inflammatory effects. In animal studies, the researchers were able to determine that moringa mustard oil glycosides have an anti-inflammatory effect. The substances can help suppress immune responses such as inflammation and thus potentially help treat chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatism or arthritis. How and in what doses Moringa extracts have an anti-inflammatory effect in humans has yet to be determined in further research.

3. It can lower blood sugar

The active ingredients of Moringa have been able to show a hypoglycemic effect in some animal experiments. Researchers monitored blood sugar levels in diabetic rats after receiving Moringa extracts. The blood sugar levels of the animals increased less with Moringa. The results of human studies are so far unreliable, as only small and unrepresentative studies have been conducted. In one study, 30 women consumed seven grams of moringa powder each day. It was observed that blood sugar levels after three months were on average 13.5% lower than at the start of the study.
