Corona numbers are on the rise: highest incidence in this age group

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) announced in its current management report that the current 7-day incidence nationwide is 30.1. With an R-value of 1.23, a further increase is expected in the coming days and weeks. The special feature: in the age range of Children aged 15 to 24 the number of cases is currently particularly high. According to the RKI, the 7-day incidence in the adolescent and young adult group is 59. The Children aged 10 to 14 it is more affected than the average with an incidence of 39.5.

This is due, among other things, to the still low vaccination rate in the younger age groups. Between 12 and 17 there are currently only 14.2 percent fully vaccinated. At least 58.9 percent between the ages of 18 and 59 and even 82 percent among the over 60s. The incidence in this age group remains single-digit.
